Overall it’s a decent keyboard, probably not the best gaming keyboard, however still a great gamers keyboard that comes with a range of gaming features from the dedicated media keys and scroll wheel volume control to the 3 macro profiles and 9 macro keys. Design is still plastic like the G710+ of the past, but it’s built like a total tank and very difficult to break.
Logitech's Of The Past
Logitech has been making keyboards for years, however it never really got into the whole mechanical key’s side of the business and instead always opting for the less expensive silicone dome switches.
The Logitech G710+ changed this and the G910 has taken this to a whole new level. The keyboard uses the Logitech Romer-G mechanical switches which provide a key actuation point up to 25 per cent shorter.
Romer-G Mechanical Switches
Actually, it’s great to use although I have seen a bunch of people complain about Logitech's in-house Romer-G switches across the forums, however to me they’re great.
In terms of feel, they remind me a lot of the Cherry Brown’s of the past although maybe slightly softer and slightly quieter. Generally, the noise comes from when you bottom out the key, which really shouldn't be an issue due to the high actuation point, which is heavily marketed.
Once you’ve loaded the software onto your computer, you can really start to take advantage of this keyboard options which include changing the lighting profiles, customizing keys and building heat maps.
The software works well and is both easy to use and very stable meaning that it works well on both Windows and macOS computers which is something we’ve had problems with in the past with Corsair and Razer keyboards.
It’s a decent gaming keyboard, that said there are a few problems. I would like the keyboard to have slot in the ARX dock to put a USB or Lightning cable into. I also think it’s right at the top of the price range that I think is acceptable for a gaming keyboard. Yes, it the top of the range gaming keyboard, but it’s hard to justify at this price point.
The Logitech G910 is great keyboard. Yes it’s expensive, but it’s a 2nd generation, well thought out gaming keyboard that has been built to perform.
As an example, we love the fact the software comes with gaming mode button which disables both the windows keys and any menu keys which means that during an over heated shoot-em-up game, you’re not going to accidentally press the wrong button.
